Life Coaching

Move From Where You Are to Where You Want to Be

You don't have to be struggling with a mental health condition to benefit from having someone in your corner.

Life Coaching

Life coaching gives you a dedicated space to step back, gain perspective, identify what you really want, and create a plan to move toward it.

As a mental health professional with a background in clinical counseling, I bring a deeper
understanding of human behavior, motivation, relationships, emotional patterns, and the obstacles that can make meaningful change difficult.

But coaching is not therapy.

What Is Life Coaching?

Life coaching is a collaborative process focused on where you are going, not diagnosing where you’ve been.

Rather than focusing primarily on symptoms, diagnoses, or treating mental health conditions, coaching focuses on helping you identify your goals, overcome obstacles, develop strategies, and take meaningful action.

Coaching can be particularly valuable when you find yourself thinking:

You don’t need to have everything figured out before you start.

That’s part of what coaching is for.

How Coaching Is Different From Therapy

Although coaching and therapy can sometimes look similar from the outside, they serve different
purposes.

Therapy

Therapy generally focuses on mental health and emotional well-being. It may involve addressing conditions, symptoms, trauma, past experiences, relationship difficulties, or patterns that are negatively affecting your life.

Life Coaching

Life coaching is generally future-focused and goal-oriented. The emphasis is on personal development, decision-making, accountability, performance, relationships, lifestyle changes, and creating the life you want.

The simplest way to think about it:

Therapy can help you understand and work through what is hurting.
Coaching can help you determine where you want to go and create a path to get there.

There can be overlap, but coaching is not a substitute for mental health treatment when treatment is needed.

Why Work With a Coach Who Has a Mental Health Background?

Not every coaching challenge is simply about productivity. .

Sometimes the obstacle isn’t a lack of information. It’s fear, self-doubt, perfectionism, difficulty setting boundaries, relationship patterns, avoidance, or uncertainty about what you actually want.

My clinical background gives me an understanding of the psychological factors that can influence how people make decisions, respond to challenges, communicate, build relationships,
and pursue meaningful goals.

That perspective can add another dimension to the coaching process.

At the same time, when we work together as coach and client, the purpose of our work is coaching—not psychotherapy.

You aren’t being diagnosed or treated for a mental health condition as part of coaching.

Instead, we’ll focus on understanding what you want, identifying what’s getting in the way, and developing practical strategies to help you move forward.

What Can We Work On?

Life coaching can be tailored to your goals and circumstances.
Personal Growth

Build confidence, develop greater self-awareness, strengthen your decision-making, and become more intentional about the life you're creating.

Relationships

Improve communication, establish healthier boundaries, navigate dating and relationships, and become more confident in how you show up with others.

Life Transitions

Whether you're starting over, relocating, entering a new stage of life, or simply questioning what comes next, coaching can provide structure and perspective during periods of change.

Confidence & Accountability

Stop endlessly thinking about making a change and start taking action. We'll identify specific steps, address obstacles, and create accountability along the way.

Creating a More Fulfilling Life

Success isn't always the same thing as fulfillment. Coaching can help you examine what is actually important to you and build a life that feels more aligned with your values and priorities.

Coaching Without the Typical Therapy Box

You don't have to fit into a diagnosis, a treatment plan, or a predefined reason for seeking help to benefit from coaching.

Life coaching is available for people who simply want more clarity, more confidence, more direction, better relationships, greater fulfillment, or a stronger sense of purpose.

Our work can be centered around your goals and your life, rather than a predetermined clinical
framework.

That doesn’t mean coaching is without professional boundaries. It means the focus is intentionally different: your growth, your goals, your decisions, and the future you want to
create.

A Collaborative Approach

I don't believe a coach should simply tell you what to do.
My role is to help you think more clearly, challenge assumptions, recognize patterns, identify opportunities, and turn ideas into action.
Sometimes that means asking difficult questions.
Sometimes it means helping you see something you've been avoiding.
Sometimes it means developing a concrete plan.
And sometimes it means having someone who will challenge you when you're capable of more than you're currently asking of yourself.
You bring the goals. We work together on the path forward.

Is Life Coaching Right for You?

Coaching may be a good fit if you're generally functioning well but feel like you're capable of more.
You may benefit from coaching if you're:
You don't have to wait until something is wrong to invest in yourself.

Your Next Chapter Doesn't Have to Look Like Your Last

You have already spent years becoming the person you are today.
Coaching can help you intentionally decide who you want to become next.
Whether you're looking for a major transformation or simply want to make meaningful improvements in the areas of life that matter most to you, you don't have to figure it all out alone.
Let's turn where you are now into a plan for where you want to go.

Important Distinction

Life coaching is a non-clinical service focused on personal development, goal setting, accountability, and forward movement. Coaching is not psychotherapy, mental health treatment, or a substitute for professional mental health care. If you are experiencing significant psychological distress or believe you may need mental health treatment, a licensed mental health professional can help determine the appropriate level of care.
